Dice-K may be commanding much of the media attention in Fort Meyers this spring, but the irrepressible Curt Schilling continues to make his voice heard. Now he's blogging at 38 pitches, most recently posting on the importance of his consistent routine. Schilling stirs up his fair share of controversy, to be sure, but I'd say his outspokeness is great for fans. Now with him directly talking about his pitching and other baseball subjects on his blog, fans have unique access to him. Schilling is clearly a true student of the game, making this a great opportunity.
Has anyone noticed that between negotations and blogging Curt is having a pretty good spring? I think it's great to have a proven starter like him on the staff, allowing Dice-K to get comfortable in the middle of the rotation.
Speaking of Dice-K, when is he going to start blogging?

Dice-K's Debut
It was great to see Dice-K's first outing in a Sox uniform. Granted, we can't get too excited about seeing him dominate a college lineup. Yet we did get a glimpse of some great stuff! I was impressed with the sharp downward bite of his breaking balls. The movement was unpredictable, varying nicely from pitch to pitch. And those fastballs, mostly in the low 90s, were right where Varitek wanted them.
Like I said, can't read too much into this one, but he did look good! I usually wait til opening day to start watching, but this was a must see.

100 Pitches...Some Bullpen!
Dice-K comes with quite a reputation for being a workhorse--I've heard of him throwing 200 pitches a game in Japan. I figured the Sox would get him on a more typical American throwing program...not so fast I guess--he threw 100 pitches in his first bullpen session yesterday!
Other news on the Dice-K front...sounds like he'll be the pitchman for more than Asanti beer and might try to help land Ichiro next year.

Spring is Here (sort of!)
What better to take the edge of another cold February day in the Boston area than realizing that Red Sox pitchers and catchers get started this Friday! As has been the case for awhile, once the Pats season came to its disappointing end, all our sporting attention could turn with eager anticipation to another Sox season.
Theo may have switched his gorilla suit for a tux this offseason; but it was still another exciting hotstove period. Clearly the biggest hype this year is the pending arrival of none other than Dice-K! Can't wait to see his first game in a Red Sox uniform!

Waiting for Dice-K
This fall, Red Sox Nation anxiously awaited the signing of Japanese pitching star Daisuke Matsuzaka. Now he's landed with the Sox and it's just over a month before pitchers and catchers report to spring training. It's time to get excited about what Dice-K will bring to a pitching staff that needs some bolstering.
This blog will track the doings of the new Sox pitcher and connect readers with all things Dice-K.
